Digital agency We! Interactive is offering Singapore SMEs pay-as-you-wish social and digital marketing assistance, and build up their eCommerce offering. This comes as Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recently called for citizens to remain at home and observe safe distancing. In light of the recent pandemic, the Singapore government has offered assistance to SMEs during this challenging times through initiatives, such as an expanded SMEs Go Digital programme and an enhanced enterprise finance scheme-SME working capital loan. However, We! said it understands that it takes more than just listing products on online marketplaces for eCommerce to take off. In fact, advertising and marketing efforts are crucial for them to attract and direct people to the online stores, the agency said.
“We must transform the way we work to ensure life continues with minimal disruption. However, not everyone has the relevant skillset and therefore we would like to offer our help. By helping other businesses, we are also helping ourselves to get the economy going,” Matthew Lim, CEO of We!, said.
To ensure the agency is able to help SMEs, it will be reviewing applications to match its capabilities. We! Interactive also called upon other agencies and relevant businesses to help in this matter. So far, one agency has thrown its weight behind this initiative – integrated marketing agency Empower Marketing Asia.
Founding director Kelvin Phang said independent agencies have been busy with their clients in managing this black swan event and also to preserve jobs. “Like everyone else, we have had events and campaigns postponed or cancelled. However, there are local businesses out there who will be fighting for survival in the months ahead and we, as agencies, should channel our creativity and resources to empower client partners through cost-effective marketing solutions instead of panicking about our P&Ls,” Phang added.
Empower previously worked with We! on its SCAPE EXP account and its current roster of clients include China Broadband Communications, Clarke Quay, Singapore Festival of Fun, Rebel Fighting Championship, Asia Drone Championship, and Tri-Factor Asian Series. The agency has offices in Singapore and Shanghai. Like We!, Empower is also reviewing applications to ensure that adequate resources can be utilised to support each client partner.
